D. Benjamin Barros, Dean of the College of Law

A former practicing attorney, an accomplished legal scholar, and a seasoned academic leader, Benjamin Barros has served as Dean of the College of Law at Stetson since 2023. He served twice on the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) Executive Committee, as chair of the AALS Property Section, and he’s a past president of the Association for Law, Property, and Society. Dean Barros has taught and written extensively on property law and authored a prominent casebook on the topic, and he’s the founding editor of the Journal of Law, Property, and Society.

With decades of experience shaping legal education and advising on policy-driven change, Dean Barros brings a practical, student-centered perspective to complex policy issues.
